So much to say and it has been a while for sure. I am not sure where my blog will go this year. But, for now, I want to share a portrait of a very good friend who always visits me from Amsterdam when I go to Paris. He just shows up and allows me to dress him or undress him for my camera: no questions and no fails. Photographing him was a great way to end my year. And, my sharing this image is a great way for me to start my year in photos. Thanks to everyone who reads/peruses/shares my blog. Happy New Year. And, thank you Stijn and Sarah.
One of the funniest albeit sexiest men that I have ever shot: Cameron Keesling (Fusion Models/Specimen) from the documentary ‘The Unglamorous: The Naked Truth of Male Models’, has graced my lens with his unadulterated beauty. You really have to watch his feature in this documentary. It is MUST see tv. I had the opportunity to shoot him for some fashion portraits a few months ago. But, he also posed nude for my window series. There were several outstanding images needless to say. But, this was by far one of my favorites. To see more of Cameron and others, please visit my tumblr called That Window in Harlem.
Nothing like making a discovery . . . I had accidentally saved Deric’s photos within another model’s portfolio. And, for years, I thought that I had some how deleted this shoot. But, I found these portraits of what might be one of the most beautiful men on this planet: Mr. Deric Mickens (Soul Artist Management). Follow him on Instagram: DericMickens
My first solo view of my work will be on display at The Marc-Antoine Barrois Maison de Couture in Paris. I am soooo beyond excited. The focus will be of the fashion and nude photos shot at “That Window in Harlem” So, you will see a mix of past and current images shot during various times of day throughout the years that illustrate the denseness of light that comes through my ONLY window in my studio.
If you are in Paris this summer, check it out. It will be at the Marc-Antoine Barrois Atelier on 6 Rue de Budapest in Paris from June 1 through July 31, 2015. Show some love if you find yourself in town.
Too many to thank but Marc-Antoine Barrois is at the top of the list. Thanks for the opportunity. And, then, Marco Massa, Kristopher Kelly and Ethan James for clarity, honesty, guidance and the lending of your ears to vent and wallow. This would have not been easy without any of you. And, finally, thanks to all of the models who sat at that window giving my neighbors something to talk about.
